This is a blog for people who are suffering with depression. It aims to offer simple, positive, and practical suggestions to help you stay active, occupy your mind, and, most importantly, feel a little bit better.

It’s often the everyday things that are the hardest when you are depressed. With this in mind, our posts focus on the really important things: food, fun, exercise, entertainment, and sleep. We’re based in London, so most of our leisure activities are about things happening in the capital, but we always endeavour, wherever possible, to mention good things happening around the UK.

The blog isn’t written by medical professionals, so you won’t find any medical advice on the page. However, you will find plenty of no-nonsense, be-kinder-to-yourself hints and tips. We’ll also signpost the way to some useful links written by those in the know. If you leave the page with just one thing to cook, run past, or watch then we’d be delighted.

If you think that you might be depressed, or are suffering from depression, it’s important that you make contact with your GP. The most important step in your recovery is starting a course of treatment with your doctor. If you are feeling suicidal, or cannot wait to see your GP, you should call Samaritans immediately (116 123) or visit the Accident and Emergency department at your local hospital.
